I have the same problem since yesterday. I don’t have a smartphone, it’s just a basic Dori  payg mobile phone 3G, I use for texts and calls. I can make a call but it says Number not recognised on the recipient’s phone,  I can’t receive calls, when they try to call me it says ‘number not recognised’..  I tried calling my landline, it says ‘there is no reply’ yet my mobile doesn’t ring.

its been fine until yesterday, It has a roaming eu add on because I am in the Channel  Isles.

Can anyone help please ?

Could you try manually connecting to one of the other Jersey network providers, @Kaf26?

What kind of phone is it that you have?

Hi @Kaf26,

Are you using a pay as you go or pay monthly plan?

James

Yes James, but am in Jersey, I am debited £5 a month, instead of the £10 I was paying when in the uk. Apparently I have to have £5 credit in the background in order to buy the £10 eu roaming for 7 days. When I call the U.K. it says on their phone Unknown number, this started happening yesterday. And nobody can call me. I can receive texts though
Thanks for your response, any help will be gratefully received.

Hi @Kaf26,

Have you tried restarting your phone to reset the connection to the roaming network you're using?

James

It’s only a basic Doro mobile phone. I have turned it right off and back on. There isn’t any other way to restart it

What does texting AL to 150 from your no. fully report verbatim (it is free)?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I still have the problem of not receiving calls which is particularly annoying because it’s costing me £10 roaming every 7 days whilst in the Channel Isles. When I call my sister in the uk her screen shows ‘unknown number’. I can make calls but not receive them. I don’t know how to resolve this. 😳

How are you paying for calls? Have you a pack?

EE debits me £ 5 every month, they said I cant use this as credit because they say it has to be in the background in order to buy roaming add ons. Since July I have had  to buy a roameu7d costing £10 in order to use my phone in Jersey for 7 days.. Until a few days ago it was fine to make and send calls and texts. I don’t have a smartphone so have never used any data. But now, I can make calls and send texts but nobody can call me.
