 Hi there,

Currently I'm abroad and I cannot contact customer services as the calls are barred, please help.

I strongly suspect here that once a pay-monthly SIM has ceased to be, whilst abroad, then any change to that SIM will require the user to activate on EE's UK network. Whether that change is to PAYG or reverting to pay-monthly, may well be immaterial.

I would welcome being proven wrong!
