Vietnam call failed to UK

Hi guys in Vietnam for 6 months. My wife and I both have EE me on Payasgo and my wife on contract. Neither can call UK.  Any assistance most welcome. Thank you.

@Sam604 if you’re on PAYG  you will need credit on your account to pay for these calls and a contact device needs to have roaming enabled on the account that’s done by texting ROAMING to 150 before you leave the UK, if it’s not been done then via that account and using the EE app under help you can use live chat to have roaming enabled on the account.   You also need to make sure you are putting 44 instead of the 0 at the start of the UK number.   You’ll also need to add a spend cap to pay for these calls and that can be done via the EE app for that account 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi guys. Getting a little frustrated now with not being able to call and would appreciate some help if possible please. Beeen through check list as advised and all set up. I think 😀 or looks as though I am. Had a call come in from UK last Saturday so not sure why I cannot call out?

Welcome to the EE Community

What happens on the phones when you try and make a call, is it just failing before trying, going to a recorded message etc. Have you manually switched to other available roaming networks to test them? What is it you have been able to check so far?

Do texts and data work ok if you have tried to use them?

Looks like nothing works. When trying to make a call 'Call Failed'.

On Saturday I had a missed inbound call from UK +44 mobile number.

@Sam604 Were you able to try selecting other available roaming networks, on both phones?  Was it on both phones everything did not work? 

With PayG for roaming to be enabled you need to have used the number on PayG for chargeable activity whilst in the UK, it also needs to have chargeable activity within the past 6 month to stay active, as if it gets hibernated then the roaming would be deactivated also.  Not sure if either of these might apply to you?

Pay monthly would need to have worldwide roaming enabled and either a spend cap high enough for calls/texts or a roaming pass purchased.
