I am having the exact same problem - have you solved it?

Yes it was the Nokia handset 110 4G, a very basic model. When I moved the SIM to my Motorola smart phone, the problem didi not occur.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me - I really appreciate it. Mine is a Nokia 105 4G, also a very basic model. I suspected it was something to do with the combination of the EE SIM and the basic Nokia mobile - though nobody seems to know why! Guess I need to try the SIM in another type of handset. Thanks again.

Hi Leanne, yes to both your questions. You looked into this for me in December last year and I also rang EE but no-one could figure out why this was happening. At least Brenk123 has confirmed he had the same problem with a basic Nokia handset. I think I just need to get a different phone.

Hi @Springgreens

Thanks for coming back to me.

Before purchasing a new phone, would you be able to try the SIM in another phone to see if you can call landlines OK and this is the phone causing this?

Leanne 🙂

Yes, I will. Perhaps I will try a phone shop and see if they would be willing to help me try the SIM in another phone. I'll let you know how it goes.

I finally got around to replacing my Nokia 105 4G with another dumbphone, the Doro 1380, using the same SIM and the problem is solved. So probably the problem (cutting off after 4 rings with a busy message when ringing a landline) was with the Nokia, though the Nokia was 4G and the Doro is 2G so I don't know if that affects things. Anyway, I am glad to see the back of this problem!
