I am currently in Australia and waiting for an important text from the NHS. I have roaming activated on my account, but I am not receiving any texts.
I did receive a text from someone as a test, but I am not receiving previous texts when my roaming wasn't enabled.
For example, I had a package delivered to my apartment which I usually receive a text message notification as well as an email. I only received the email.

How did you ensure roaming is activated on your account? Did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? That's not the same as having roaming activated on your device.

Hey! Thanks for the fast response.
I activated roaming only yesterday as I didn't realize it was part of my package.
I activated it by texting ROAMING to 150, as well as turning roaming on in my device settings.
I've still not received any texts since my arrival in Australia which was the 6th of December.

You managed to text ROAMING to 150 yesterday while in Oz? I don't think that is possible. It needs to be done in UK.

Yes managed to do it yesterday, it gave me 3 options to text to them, going, abroad or going home. I selected abroad. Got confirmation that roaming is activated, and it's currently working for me right now. I'm not in a WiFi zone and my roaming is working.

Good for you!
The very fact that you we able to text from Oz means that roaming was already enabled anyway.

Okay that's great. But do you know why I haven't received any texts from the 6th of December (when I arrived)? None have come through.

Is the same issue apparent from every Australian network operator? Use your phone's manual network options to check each one in turn.

Hey!
Yep, I only have 3 networks available. Telstra (which I was already connected to), OPTUS and Vodafone. Connected to all 3 and texts haven't come through.

Try sending a text to yourself on each network in turn - does it arrive?
