Rest of World Roaming

I am currently on a 2 year contract with EE. One of my Add Ons is a Roam Further Pass which says "Use your UK Data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts while abroad in rest of world"

I am struggling to find on the EE website what this actually means. Everything seems to point to me having to pay extra for this.

I am visiting Japan soon and everything I read says that I will need to pay extra to use my iPhone on this contract.

But, surely I should not have to if the wording in the Roam Further Pass is applied.

Has anyone got any help on this or been in a similar situation?

Since Aug 2024 the Roam Further Pass has been withdrawn. Anyway it never covered Japan.

As you are on contract, you may use your usual UK allowances in the EE ROW Zone 3 with up to 5 MB data per day, when you buy the Zone 3 Pass for £7.50 / day. Otherwise you will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/countries/japan.

The Roam Further Pass add-on included on a Full Works plan taken on or after 29th August 2024 now provides free-of-charge roaming in ROW Zone 1 countries. Previously it was just USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico and New Zealand but the function of the pass was updated to provide the additional Zone 1 countries to Full Works plans taken after the tariff refresh (29th August 24) date.

This updated pass does not include Japan however, as it is in Zone 3. The charges for this are outlined in @XRaySpeX response above.

The lists of countries in each Zone are visible here: ee.co.uk/roamingrefresh

Thank you for the replies. Very interesting reading.

I have literally only just taken out this contract with EE and the Add Ons definitely said Apple One + World Roaming. In fact it still says that now.

Looking at my Add Ons, Roam EU is a separate Add On and Roam Further Pass in another separate Add On which definitely still says 'Rest of World'. To me, 'Rest of World' means the rest of the world and not just a couple of countries.

Are EE misleading me here and also others if they are still offering this as an Add On which no longer exists.

Feel a phone call to EE coming on to complain.

@Matt_124 : But it's not still called "Roam Further Pass" is it?

In the add-ons section of the App it is yeah, slightly confusing.
