@Leanne_T thanks for replying. The device that is not able to make calls is another that I have on an ee monthly plan. The device is showing signal, in this case AT&T but if you try to make a call there is no connection. This device I am messaging on also has signal with AT&T | EE and functions ok. I have tried contacting EE in the UK but was cut off, 4 times.

Hi, yes and the phone worked OK for the 1 week. I have checked my account which is showing roaming in the USA is activated.

Hi, I have done that, airplane mode on and off, soft reset and changed sim to another phone which had the same symptom. I have managed to reach a very nice person in the tech department who has managed to solve the problem by reseting something at his end and now all is working again. Many thanks for your help.
