I just need to Unbar my phone. I’ve requested it five times through the customer services on the phone. They’re lovely people, but I’m not getting anywhere. I need to find my bank in America and I’m going crazy.

No, I just can’t call America or one800 number and I need to call my bank in America and I I don’t know what to do. I don’t even remember putting a bar on the phone and they’re saying third-party. I don’t know what a third-party is there’s me who pays the bill there’s no third-party oh my God this is a nightmare and the EE customer service team are wonderful people but it’s just not working.

You'd added to quite an old post about a non-payment bar, but it's usually better to start a new thread explaining your issue - yours has now been moved to a new thread.

Are you in the UK or abroad? What makes you think your phone has been barred? Whom or what is "they" that are "saying third party"?

@Miles67Z : Are you on contract or PAYG?

Putting a bar on a phone is about stopping 3rd parties charging subscriptions to your phone bill. Making a call to abroad isn't anything like that. If when speaking to CS you used the word "unbar" they would naturally think you meant the former & would've unbarred your no. to allow  3rd-party charges to bill. But of course  that wouldn't have the slightest effect on your ability to make International Calls.

Yes I am on a contract extremely expensive contract and this phone was
supposed to be for my son but he wants the larger iPhone 16. I know I’m a
complete pushover so I’ve set it up so that he couldn’t make expensive
phone calls but now I’ve messed up my old phone, I don’t know what I’m
doing. I’m gonna have to go into the shop.

International Calls are expensive phone calls. If you limited those by setting a spend cap you need to increase it. Text SPEND CAP to 150  to change it.

@Miles67Z, even if you make one international call in a month, it is probably worth adding the International Pass Add-on (£2 per month) for a month. With the pass, calls to USA are 3p per minute versus the £4.21 per minute (source: https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/call-abroad/countries/usa).

There are also services outside of EE, like Zadarma and Skype, that just require data. Skype is no longer a good deal as it requires a subscription now to call internationally (and that's more expensive than the International Pass Add-on).

Good luck getting your old phone sorted 📱🤞
