Hi @Gemm2,
Upgrading shouldn't affect your network unless you are also being sent a new sim card. What did you upgrade to/from?
I'd first recommend checking for problems in your area using the Network & Coverage Tool.
Put in your postcode and choose your phone model, then click 'Check Status'.

Did you do the network check? What was the result?
It could just be that EE have sent you a new sim - so if one does arrive, please put it into your new phone and you should have service as normal.

A replacement SIM will often be supplied with upgrade phones incase there's a problem with your current SIM or it doesn't fit your new phone.
If your existing SIM works and fits your new phone, use it. No need to cause issues by unnecessarily changing SIM.
