I was having trouble with my sim so turned it to a esim. On 27th aug I decided to go back to a physical. So rang up and ordered a new one to be sent out to me. About 00.30am my phone come up with emergency calls only, then come up with no service and kept whiching between. This morning (28th aug)I have got up and it still says emergy calls only. My new physical sim hasn't come so I dont understand why my esim isn't working. I have turned the phone off and back in again but still does nothing. Anyone any idea why this has happened. Surely they cant of stopped the esim working before my physical sim comes

In which case everything you've described points at a SIM issue, you'll thus have to wait for the replacement SIM delivery.

They are normally sent out by Royal Mail second-class post. If you only requested this yesterday, 27th August - you could be looking at Friday, Saturday or potentially Monday.

Do a manual search for networks - does EE show as available?

If no - you're unlucky to have a coverage outage, but WiFi-calling should still work.

If yes - try connecting manually to prove a SIM/account issue.

You can obtain a replacement SIM "on-the-spot" by visiting an EE retail store with appropriate photo-ID.

I did this it come up in the list so I selected it and it come back saying selected provider (EE) not available.

I cant get to the store at the moment thats why I ordered it to be delivered.

I just dont get how I can have a issue with  esim. Not good when I have 4 children at home. Good job they have phones

@Mumof4boys not sure why you were having issues with an ESim, as they work the same as a physical SIM card, but if you ordered a replacement SIM card, that could be why you have no signal.

Did you actually checked whether there was a problem where you are? If you have fixed broadband, then you should have been able to use wifi calling, you will now have to wait until you receive your physical SIM card, unfortunately. Hope you ordered a replacement SIM card.

You've mentioned changing from physical SIM > electronic SIM > back to physical SIM, but not what the underlying reasons for doing so, were.

The new sim turned up today. Once it was activated all was fine and working again
