I'm currently abroad and unable to connect to a local network.
I believe my international Roaming is not turned on, but I can't find anyway to do it. I can't text ROAM to 150 because obviously I'm not connected to a network.
Help topics all seem to say log in and then go to manage devices and turn on roaming. But there's no manage devices sub menu anywhere. I've tried calling customer services (at international rates since I'm abroad!) and been on hold for an hour with nobody answering.
I've looked in myEE app and the only place roaming is mentioned there, it says to text Roam to 150

This is nonsensical.
I am being advised to fix a problem with a phone that does not work (no network access by any means) by making a phone call! I am struggling with the logic🤔

If you don't enable roaming before taking your phone abroad, then without access to another means of calling - you are indeed in catch-22.

Yes, thank you for that.
My phone works fine in France and was working a few weeks ago in Italy. I had not had to enable anything more. On the basis that no changes had been made I thought roaming was enabled anyway and would work. Obviously not.
It would appear this forum has run its course and no one can help.

Hi @PaulF11,
It sounds like your account is setup for EU roaming, but not outside of the EU.
Our Customer Care Team will be happy to activate this for you if you can get access to another phone to call.
