Barring calls from 0843 numbers

I receive a lot of nuisance calls from 0843 numbers, which I have to bar individually. I am registered with tps service which is useless. I would like to be able to bar all incoming 0843 calls.

Never return a call to an 0843 number as these are always outside of call packagesand will be expensive.

Derk1ExplorerIn response to James_BOptions‎02-12-2021 10:24 AMThis has worked for me for 2 years., ive updated to an S23 and it still works for me, hope you have the same results I've just tried this on my S10, as I too am receiving 0843 calls... I don't know if this will solve the issue, I'll have to wait and see, but it may be worth trying.. press the "phone" icon, then "contacts" then the three dots, at top right. then "settings"this takes you to "call settings" then below is "block numbers"  second list down is "block spam and scam calls"takes you to "caller ID and spam..." turn to "ON"... Lower down on same screen "block spam and scam calls" turn on "block all spam and scam calls" I hope it works cos I'm fed up with this occurring. EE or Samsung should include this type blocking i.e. number groups 0843, 0845 etc. as an urgent matter for customer serviceSent from my Galaxy

This is my original post from 2 years ago, it helped and reduced a lot of scam and premium rate calls, it is still working for me now even though I've updated to an S23, hope it works for you all somewhat, although I've not checked the exact instructions on my S23 I've posted below, you will still get the gist of the message. xxx

I have asked EE for 2 years why they are not blocking these numbers at source. Never had a response

I have been asking for years why haven’t EE blocked 0843 numbers. I know the reason why and that’s because they are getting £0.70 from you there customer every time you inadvertently call the number.

People are suggesting that you bar all those that are not in your contacts. Great idea do I take my number off of all  of my advertising for my business and block all of my potential new clients.

No the answer is for the Network’s to block them.

Well, @Rocket19 , you just don't call the no.  back & EE makes nowt from them.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thank you for the information, it’s only 7p. But drives me mad that I can not block them. EE told me that has put a zero £’s on some oust and that would fix it. Liars, I finally found the list and it excludes 0843 numbers. So why lie in the first place.
