2-step verification SMS from e-bay not received since April 24

I don't think I'd noticed that this was happening as I usually use my phone app with finger-print log-in to ebay. It was only when I came to configure a new laptop that I realised that ebay's two-step verification process wasn't being received on my phone. I'm pretty sure that it's something to do with an interaction between EE and ebay as my wife's account on the same laptop machine logs in just fine with a text received on another network. I've been through all the other suggested hoops, like checking that I'm not using AdBlocker in my browser - even loaded another non-Chrome browser. It's a twin SIM phone and EE is set to be my principle number. I'm receiving other SMSs just fine, even from unknown sources.  I've removed any Spam detection software in case this was blocking unknown numbers (it wasn't anyway). Even the phone app is insisting that changes are subject to a 2-step verification so I can't go in and change anything like the telephone number.

Ideas please. I tried logging in with Google, but what they don't tell you is that sets up a new account , which interestingly enough works on 2-step verification with my other GiffGaff number. At the moment, I'm trying to eliminate what is the not the problem before going through the hoops of actually getting to talk to someone at Ebay!

I've just tested eBay login and received a text OTP within <10 seconds of it being requested.

Hi there @billynibbles

Thanks for coming to the community.

Have you received texts from eBay before April?

Can you receive OTP from other companies?

Have you recently joined EE?

Leanne 🙂

Finally spoke to Ebay - (three people and quite a lot of canned music later) it turns out they had experienced a glitch back in April that caused some users this problem, so it was THEM all along. Thank you for your interest. All sorted.
