There is zero data connection near Wrexham City centre (LL112BA +2 mile radius), it's a complete dead zone. Phones show a signal and a 4G connection but no connection or calls can actually be made. It's been this way for well over a year, does anyone else struggle for a connection in this area? (Sainsbury's, Football Ground, Hospital etc.)

Most users would associate a dead zone with there not being coverage - you've mentioned there being good indicated service but your're having problems with calls & data.
It would be highly unusual for a network fault such as this to progress for over a year without significant numbers of users complaining, so the issue may lie elsewhere.
Do you have problems using your phone in other locations? Do you know any friends or relatives locally who also use EE, who you could compare service with?

I don't have any problems in any other areas, but every person I know has the same issue on every network in the same area, I'm aware that it's not just an EE problem, but it is part of the problem. Not sure who to contact about getting things looked at. It infuriates the whole town 🤣

If coverage is displayed but there's a problem with calls or data, that is a different issue to lack of coverage. What happens when you try making a call in this location?
The online coverage tool serves two functions, both of which could be useful here - https://coverage.ee.co.uk/network/ee
1: Check coverage - does this prediction match your experience?
2: Check status - check for known issues, and "report a problem" lets you submit details for closer investigation.
At minimum, any EE user having problems should use the reporting option as a first check. Then report the issue via CS if unresolved.

I can remember this being an issue in the Wrexham area back to around 2019.
As a matter of fact, EE customers will struggle for data connection in the Wrexham area despite indicated signal and data availability.
EE is aware of this. Three network has the same issue. It's very, very well known in the area.

Just here to agree. Shows 4g signal, half of the time can't even send a WhatsApp text. It tends to go in and out at the football (I notice it because its the only place I'm standing in exactly the same place for 90 minutes) I'll usually text my mate in the other side of the ground near the beginning, sometimes I can send pictures, some times I can't even send text, but it shows 4g signal regardless. Currently using an s23 ultra, but has always been the same in that area.

It’s been this way for some years. EE is shockingly bad in Wrexham. Can’t even make a call from my house anymore. Have to use WiFi calling.
apparently it was when the mobile tower was removed when the old police station was knocked down.
anyone have good signal in Wrexham on a different network? I need a new provider

Hi
I know the mobile signal is poor but mainly its due to the Faraday cage effect from the building materials used to insulate the house. The only way that works to solve the problem is to install a EE signal booster into the house and the company I used mobile signal solutions deliver them next day.
Installation itself is a it of work, the hardest being finding a good location for the aerial outside, the aerial is 30cm by 10 cm so its much larger then the one inside your handset, that is why it can pick up a strong signal even when its low in Wrexham itself around the estate. Once you get it in place then try it at 4 different points, north east, south and west. The one with the best results is the one to use and you will have good EE or any network signal in that room, it will not travel much further but should give coverage in the rooms beside it also.

Depends what problem you're trying to solve.
