Woodbridge, Suffolk

Can you send physically send someone out to Woodbridge, Suffolk and especially into the area around the Station/River, the Thoroughfare and Hamblin Road/Leisure Centre car parks where according to your Coverage  Checker we should have a perfect 4G signal, but in reality there is nothing (neither calls or internet).

It is a busy little town that suffers from poor connectivity generally but attracts lots of people from local villages each day.

The lack of a signal has been compounded by East Suffolk Council deciding to introduce the apps to pay for car parks in the town which no one can use.

I have reported this before via the 'Problem Reporting' button and got a reply saying you could not find an issue, however you chose to base this decision on my home address (which has a reliable 4G signal) and not Woodbridge that I asked you to check.

An interesting location - the coverage map shows excellent coverage but two alternate sets of testing data confirm the exact opposite. The Ofcom multi-operator map confirms variable levels of service across all operators.

I wonder if there's been local opposition to planning applications for new-build sites.

Hi,

Thanks for the response, however this isn't something that has happened recently, it is years in the making and has become more visible since the District Council tried to automate things.

It interesting that you have discovered an issue, perhaps someone technical from EE/BT would like to follow it up and sort it out.

Hi @mlrend

Welcome to the Community!

We know how important it is for you to be able to stay connected, so I can appreciate how frustrating it must be to have these issues, and I'd like t get this looked further into. I'd recommend reaching out to our team, and they can look into what is happening in a most specific area, and see how your connection behaves while you are there, to get a deeper understanding of this.

I was there today and couldn't get signal anywhere, and I have never managed to get signal in any of the Hamblin road car parks, so i always park at risk and have done for years. I can only seem to get signal in Woodbridge by Old Barrack Road. However, my other half who is on O2 and when he comes to Woodbridge with me he gets perfect signal. I am finding that EE signal in most places is terrible (even in Hyde Park, which I questioned EE about), and they replied that they were aware of the problem. Still don't seem to be doing anything about though.

I hope the signal in Woodbridge gets improved soon.

Just to say I’ve also had this problem recently in the car parks down by the station, all was well until about a month ago but since then all i see on my iPhone is the satellite signal for emergencies. What’s worse is the car parks machines only take coins.

Hi!

I contact East Suffolk Council who run the parking apps at this location, and they replied to me yesterday saying that the problem lies with the network provider and that I should contact EE to investigate this further, as they are unable to do anything about it.
