Why poorer connection for newer model of same phone

Hi all, I was planning on treating myself to an i Phone 14 pro, at the moment I have an iPhone 11. The checker is showing the 11 having stronger connectivity that the 14! Can anyone explain this to me because I really want the upgrade??

I suspect you're comparing 5G service with 4G in your area - that's a much newer technology and will generally give a weaker perceived service due to not every network site being 5G-enabled.

The coverage checker displays predicted service based on phone model and which technologies are supported.
