I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and although I have the full works package shown in my account, I don’t seem to be able to enable/see the option to enable standalone 5G. From https://ee.co.uk/why-ee/5g-on-ee the criteria is:
The problem is, I can’t see further information as to the compatible phones.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi there. Thanks for sharing this info
As you're probably aware, there is very limited information on the EE site about 5G SA. Can I ask where you got this information about what devices work with 5G SA. Technical support said my phone (pixel 8 pro) does work but then again why also told me I had to change my SIM, which I've since found out is complete nonsense!

It's insane isn't it. Like, launching a service but not informing tech support inc Line 2 what 5G SA is and how to get it. I still have absolutely no idea why I cannot receive 5G SA as after 7 calls and 2 shop visits, every conversation was contradictory.

"Level 2" are a customer-service team. Network Tech Support are not customer-facing but accept fault ticket escalations from them.

Thanks for confirming, it sill doesn't help tho as they are giving out incorrect information. It's not their fault either, the real techies (as you have alluded to) simply aren't training customer facing teams. It's a complete and utter mess.

Any update on this? Has anyone had success getting their account fixed either by 150 or in-store so they can activate 5GSA on an iPhone 15/16? I've lost the will to try again. 🤣

Funny you say this. I got my pixel pro 8 in January 2024. The next would/ will be in January 2026. Initially it worked however at home it's WiFi. At work London SW10 it worked. Nowadays it's just 4G with the slower speed to match. At home switching off WiFi it's 4G. A few months ago a guide told me I'd had 5G for 1 day in the last month.. speaking recently I was told there were mast issues and it would be reported to level 2. None too sure what the outcome will be. Considering the costs of both phone and access it's like expensive to say the least. When I checked the coverage it says good for one and excellent for the other - erm not so. In fact occasionally I even get 'no connection ' even when showing full 4G connections.
