I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and although I have the full works package shown in my account, I don’t seem to be able to enable/see the option to enable standalone 5G. From https://ee.co.uk/why-ee/5g-on-ee the criteria is:

The problem is, I can’t see further information as to the compatible phones.IMG_0820.jpeg

I’ve moved to iOS 18.1 public beta 3. I received a text from EE.

Before that, my network profile was EE 59.5.1

And since the profile update it’s now EE 60.0.1

And I now have the capability to enable 5G Standalone.

Interesting. I'm still on 59.0.1. Maybe that's why it's greyed out for me. Is network profile tied to what version of iOS you're on? If so, I'll have to wait until iOS 18.1 is out of beta.

@stoli412   I’m still at 59.0.1 myself.  OS 18.0.1

You also need to be in

** The launch cities announced today are: Bath, Belfast, Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Sheffield.

so if not there is no signal from a mast to give you 5GSA.    This is the information from September 5th and I don’t think it’s changed yet

I’ll be in Leeds and Manchester on Monday so will be able to test out the connectivity then.

I'm in central Manchester so should be able to pick up 5G standalone. The issue is that the option to enable it is greyed out and says my SIM isn't compatible.

@stoli412   Might be worth requesting a replacement sim and seeing if that allows it to work.  If that does then work you can then try the esim transfer directly on the device in settings.

I went into the shop to do an eSIM swap to see if that would fix it, no change. And that's when I got the bulls**t line that only the iPhone 16 supports 5GSA.

I can confirm with iOS 18.1 public beta 3 in Leeds and using the latest profile from EE and standalone 5G turned on that I can now access 5G Standalone. There’s no visible difference on the user interface however if you use the nPerf app that shows if you’re on SA (Standalone 5G) or NSA (not standalone 5G).
