Terrible signal in home on mobile phone

Hey

Called the support line this morning and I'm pretty sure we were talking about different things. The signal in my home is absolutely terrible and even completely drops out sometimes. Right now i have absolutely no bars! Yet the coverage checker states i should be getting excellent 4g coverage indoors

Calls are a nightmare and apparently most of the time i sound like a robot.
please do not suggest wifi calling as the solution as this just masks why i have no signal.
i need my phone for hospital correspondence and this is making it quite tricky!
I see looking at the forum that this seems to be happening to quite a lot of people and Ee’s solution is wifi calling! This isn't a solution

Hello @Loopyloo26t ,

Welcome to the community,

EE cannot be held responsible for the signal in your home, this will depend on buildings, trees etc, which may be blocking the signal.

Do you have fixed broadband at your home? You should then be able to use wifi calling. You also say do not suggest wifi calling, the reason we suggest this, as when you do not have a good reception this is the way to get a good signal, as I have written EE cannot be held accountable for bad signal in the house, it will also depend, as I have already written above on the building and where the mast is, as to whether the signal can be reached in your home.

I would also suggest clicking on this link:

https://coverage.ee.co.uk/coverage/ee

How is the signal outside where you are?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

The signal has never ever been this bad so what has changed? I haven't moved, i haven't had any buildings erected around me, nothing has changed and it has never been this poor. There is always some kind of maintenance going on as i receive weekly texts!
I have checked the coverage!
I can not wait for my contract to end so i can leave!

@Loopyloo26t ,

We would not know, as this is not customer service but a public forum, where customers and some staff try to help people, we also have no idea, who you are or where you live.

Have you checked the status for where you live as well?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

To be honest they should be held responsible because they are the one that are providing the signal and you are paying for it. If they can't provide a good signal then you might as well go on a lower plan and stick to 4G..

What is the point for painful for 5G when you're really getting 4G signal 🤷

Exactly this! I have no bars what so ever! If i leave the house i will have nothing as apparently there is now:

Network update: Our engineers have found a problem in CB23 and are fixing it, your service should be back to normal within 11 hours. Your Report ID is ? To keep connected simply use WIFI calling, to get started click here care.ee.co.uk/wifi_calling

So my one lonely little bar is now zero bars! Waiting for hospital to call so have to stay home and wait for my Wifi call!

No-one pays for use of a specific technology, be it 2G, 4G or 5G - you pay for network access which includes free use of WiFi-calling. Indoor coverage is never going to be 100% with any network, and WiFi-calling is an excellent mitigation for those coverage issues when they occur.

If that is the case then why does EE advertise the 5G network has been the best not only that being the best so that it can be used in space. When in reality it can't be even used on earth without losing connection. 🤷. That is called false advertisement.

Maybe prepping us all for space!

your reply did make me laugh.

I actually spoke to someone last night and there is an issue that keeps happening, MONTHLY!
Calls just drop out or i get no signal what so ever.

Where has anyone claimed that there is mobile coverage in space?

All mobile technologies will have good & bad coverage areas, this applies equally to 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G.

Staying on the original topic for the person who started this thread, WiFi-calling allows seamless use of your phone indoors, and allows handover of voice calls to and from the 4G-mobile network.
