Hi,
Is anyone else getting terrible data coverage in their town centre? In central Windsor (Berkshire) I regularly have no data connection, just an exclamation mark next to the signal icon on my Google Pixel 5. Is this due to buildings (a castle?), proximity to a railway or anything else? Or too many people connecting to too few masts? It's a real problem given that paying for parking on RingGo needs an internet connection.
Ultimately would a different network be better, or are they sharing the same kit?
Thanks

lol so basically Leanne_T Is passing on the problem to someone else AND for us to chase up the issue.
Excellent support.
FYI, There is still a block on data availability, but now my phone say “5G” 😂 and yet zero data can be sent or received while I’m in the town centre, day, night, busy or quiet. And when I leave the town centre the flow of data returns.
This will be my last message here.
Because it’s pointless.

Hi there @TheKnower
If you are having data connection issues since the upgrades were installed, we would need to run troubleshooting and get this looked into in more detail.
Our tech guides on 150 will be able to complete the troubleshooting and raise a ticket with the network team if needed.
Leanne.

Just to confirm that there is still zero EE coverage in the central Windsor area. No change whatsoever - absolutely no sign of any improvement after purported upgrades. I have to remember to take my work-issues mobile phone when I go to town because it is on Vodafone.
And I agree with the comment above - why is it the customer’s job to chase this? I pay EE for a service. EE does not provide that service. I tell them this so they can fix it. I do not expect to have to use any more of my time helping EE fix their network problems.

Yep - just looking back on the replies on this. Just to be clear, this is all after the ‘upgrade’.
No mobile date - not even enough to open BBC News or check a bus time. Today, I couldn't download a prepurchased bus ticket when boarding outside Windsor Parish Church. I had to wait until the bus had left the central core.
Now, if EE were being open, honest, decent and fair, they would just say “yep, there is a problem. As a temporary help, you can access EE hotspots in Windsor for free”. That would help. Everything else that the company has tried to do in three years of reporting this has achieved literally nothing.

So, Leanne, what more do you want before an investigation is started?

As far as I can work out, there are three possible issues:
The first two could be remedies by investing in existing or new masts. The last could be solved by repositioning or building new masts.
Whatever the response is from EE, please do not say that there isn’t a problem or that it has been solved. Given extensive personal experience in all parts of central Windsor, such responses amount to gaslighting and are not welcome.

And also please do not suggest that users should phone 150 or do anything else. There is a problem. It has been reported. The problem has been confirmed by multiple users over several years. Rather than wasting our time as guinea pigs, EE should send out engineers to investigate themselves as to why they are in breach of contract for being unable to provide even a basic service in a wide and central geographic area.

Was in Windsor town last week, absolutely no signal. On a iPhone 14 Pro Max. Ridiculous.

EE 4G and 5G coverage in central Windsor is not available. The coverage map showing that it is available is inaccurate.
If this were the case, phones would have zero coverage displayed, and both voice calls & texts would be impossible.

It's a lovely conspiracy theory, but security agencies use mobile phones too. If this were the case, then all royal palaces would be coverage blackspots for all networks.
Planning consents are often a hindrance to new site builds, and can sometimes factor in capacity adds to existing sites.
