Extended Range PAYG and Pay Monthly

This summer I will be heading to a remote area of Scotland only covered by the 800mhz Extended Range cellular band.

In previous years I’ve visited the area and tried to receive cellular service using various PAYG and Pay Monthly options (not pay monthly EE/BT) without any success. This has been due to the limitations around VoLTE (4G calling) when using the 800mhz band not on a EE/BT Pay Monthly plan.

It appears that EE’s PAYG plans now support VoLTE - does this mean if I purchase a PAYG sim I will be able to connect to Extended Range masts?

Failing that, does anyone know if the EE 1 Month Pay Monthly plans allow me to connect to Extended Range masts.

I’m not in the area for long so just need service for the short term, hence the desire for short term plans.

Thanks

Any pay-monthly SIM supports VoLTE which enables access to 800Mhz.

You should also be OK with a new PAYG SIM, although I don't believe this is documented anywhere.
