Emergency call only intermittently

Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed my phone keeps going to 'emergency calls only'. I don't think it's a network issue as when I restart the phone it works again, has been working normally for a few days each time but today it's happened 4/5 times.

Is this more likely to be a problem with the phone or the sim card?  Anything I can do to fix it?

If you perform a manual network search when "emergency calls" is shown, does EE show as an available network?

Hi

Sorry for the delay, I had to wait for this to happen again before I could test and let you know. There is no option to do so, and under data usage it shows 'no sim card' as below. So it looks like the phone isn't recognising the sim being in?

Lack of working SIM will cause a loss of network connectivity, yes. You therefore need to eliminate whether the SIM slot or the SIM itself is the cause.

Are you using a dual-SIM phone, in which case try the other slot. Otherwise, try a 2way SIM-swap

Put the non-working SIM in a working phone - what result? Put a working SIM in your non-working phone, what result?
