Update: 13 March 2025

Over the past month, our engineers have found further work on the build is needed. Unfortunately, this has delayed the power supply being installed to provide power for the new mast. We expect all work to be completed and the power to be installed by the beginning of May. Once the power has been installed, we can confirm an approximate date for the integration to start and the mast to be on-air.

Update: 11 May 2023

Over the past few months, our engineers have submitted revised designs to the council for approval and these have been approved. As part of the approved planning permission, we have been requested to trim back trees in the area to make the area suitable for the equipment. Once the tree work has been completed, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

We have submitted site drawings for the area to the council for approval, once this step is completed and the designs are approved, we can start legal proceedings to legally acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast. Barring any unforeseen complications, we expect all legal steps to be completed and build to start by February 2023.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 06 September 2022

Our engineers have been made aware the area we had located and completed surveys for planning permission will no longer be available for the new mast to be built on the area, this is due to a clerical error with land ownership.

As soon as we were made aware the land we had originally surveyed and requested planning permission for was no longer an option for the mast, our engineers located another area at the same site for the mast to be situated. Our engineers are working with the council to complete surveys at the new area to make sure the area will be health and safety compliant and apply for planning permission from the landowner.

We will keep you updated on this post.

We expect the new mast to be on air by the end of August 2021, barring any unforeseen delays.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 17 December 2020

Over the past few months our engineers have been working on a new location for the mast in Craven Arms.

We initially found a possible location for the replacement site, and progressed with surveys of the area. However, the survey showed that the area was unsuitable for the mast, and a new location was needed.

We located an alternative area for the new mast and completed all surveys. However, this location was being used as a COVID testing site and the build was delayed by a number of months. This has now ended, and we expect the mast to be built and on air by the end of March 2021.

We will continue to keep you updated on this post.

Update: 14 May 2020

Thank you for the feedback that has been provided. After monitoring the mast’s performance since the upgrades have been completed, we have found the replacement site is not yet providing the level of coverage we’re aiming for.

Work is continuing so that we can make further improvements, and we are looking for possible locations for a new site in the area.

We will continue to keep you updated on this post.

Update: 28 January 2020

Our engineers have now completed the required upgrades on the mast to improve coverage in Craven Arms.

We’d value your feedback on the service you’ve received in the area since the improvements have been completed.

To give feedback, please tap reply below and this will help us monitor the performance and improve coverage in the long-term.

We’re aware of an ongoing signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in the Craven Arms area.

Our mast in the area has been replaced and we’ve found the replacement mast is not providing as much coverage as the previous mast. Because of this, we’ve looked at ways to improve coverage, and during January our engineers will be installing upgrades on the mast.

Having gone trhough Christmas without phone or internet for most of the time, I was surprised to find that the forum dates back to 2020.  The replies referred to the Oakley Mynd mast being the one to be upgraded.   Since we understood that our signal came from Cwm Head and provided a signal that was fairly reliable, I worry that EE intends replacing the Cwm Head mast with a new Oakley Mynd one, and that the failure of our signal is an indication that we may lose our service altogether, if we are unable to get a signal from Oakley Mynd.  A little clarity as to exactly what is planned would help.
