Update: 13 March 2025
Over the past month, our engineers have found further work on the build is needed. Unfortunately, this has delayed the power supply being installed to provide power for the new mast. We expect all work to be completed and the power to be installed by the beginning of May. Once the power has been installed, we can confirm an approximate date for the integration to start and the mast to be on-air.

Update: 06 September 2022
Our engineers have been made aware the area we had located and completed surveys for planning permission will no longer be available for the new mast to be built on the area, this is due to a clerical error with land ownership.
As soon as we were made aware the land we had originally surveyed and requested planning permission for was no longer an option for the mast, our engineers located another area at the same site for the mast to be situated. Our engineers are working with the council to complete surveys at the new area to make sure the area will be health and safety compliant and apply for planning permission from the landowner.

Update: 17 December 2020
Over the past few months our engineers have been working on a new location for the mast in Craven Arms.
We initially found a possible location for the replacement site, and progressed with surveys of the area. However, the survey showed that the area was unsuitable for the mast, and a new location was needed.
We located an alternative area for the new mast and completed all surveys. However, this location was being used as a COVID testing site and the build was delayed by a number of months. This has now ended, and we expect the mast to be built and on air by the end of March 2021.
We will continue to keep you updated on this post.
Update: 14 May 2020
Thank you for the feedback that has been provided. After monitoring the mast’s performance since the upgrades have been completed, we have found the replacement site is not yet providing the level of coverage we’re aiming for.
Work is continuing so that we can make further improvements, and we are looking for possible locations for a new site in the area.

Update: 28 January 2020
Our engineers have now completed the required upgrades on the mast to improve coverage in Craven Arms.
We’d value your feedback on the service you’ve received in the area since the improvements have been completed.
To give feedback, please tap reply below and this will help us monitor the performance and improve coverage in the long-term.
We’re aware of an ongoing signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in the Craven Arms area.
Our mast in the area has been replaced and we’ve found the replacement mast is not providing as much coverage as the previous mast. Because of this, we’ve looked at ways to improve coverage, and during January our engineers will be installing upgrades on the mast.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. In the meantime, if you’re an EE pay monthly customer with a compatible phone you can use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a WiFi connection.
For details on how to set up this service, please see our WiFi calling help pages.

Dear Katie,
No, I have not been contacted about my query.
However, I rang on Sunday to complain in person and had a discussion with your college,Shane.
He stated work had been done and he will ring back at 5.00pm today, Tuesday, to see if there is any improvement.
I subsequently received a text to state my Report ID was 2984406.
I have received a text today at 1.15pm to say you could not find a problem in the SY7 8AL area and recommending I restart my device!
What a joke!
There is no improvement and do they not know about the whole of the thread of this community page and how long it has been running and how many disgruntled customers there are?
It really is time to stop fobbing us all off with these texts, treat us with the respect we rightly deserve and sort the problem out!

Hi there @CliveJuleff
The message you received will be for any additional maintenance work that has taken place in the area, if you have registered for network updates within My Places, you will get these texts.
Work is continuing in the area, and we are looking for possible locations for a new site as we have found the replacement site is not yet providing the level of coverage we’re aiming for.
We will continue to keep you updated on the main post.
Leanne.

2nd September 2020
still having signal issues, having to swap to WiFi calling. I get that we’re in an area surrounded by hills but almost a year of signal issues and still not resolved. We need a better mast that works here. Seems there’s enough customer complaints to warrant it being a priority fix or replace job.
come on EE your customers need you 😊

There is still virtually no coverage in Bromfield - sometimes my phone shows the smallest amount of coverage but daily the phone reads 'Emergency calls only' or No service
I can't use my phone in the village and I'm not receiving calls
I really hope that it can be improved before next year when we should get the new mast.

For weeks now in and off I’ve not been able to txt or call from church Stretton or receive calls when in church Stretton.
I have all my family on ee so when I’m at work I can’t get them a lot of the time as there is no signal.
what’s going on it never used to be like this.

Welcome to the EE community
Is anything reported on the coverage & status checker , if you select "check network" or "check outages" for the faults & issues board?

The usually upgrading will be fixed in 2hrs. But takes all day and then dies again the next day.

I've finally been told that the problems in Craven Arms are overloading the mast that services me in Church Stretton, which explains the loss of service we experience sometimes several times a week for months now.
So that's two communities not being served well by EE.
I see from the official replies that the completion date for the new mast continually moves back - now "end of 2021". Any better news?
14-09-2021 04:13 PM
posting here as well as Craven Arms forum. After a formal complaint to EE I have finally be told that the problems in Church Stretton are due to the continuing problems with re-siting a new mast for Craven Arms. As a result the signal from the Church Stretton mast gets overloaded with EE customers in Craven Arms and is degraded or goes down.
The new mast project has been plagued with problems and the date it will come into operation has been continually moved back. The current estimate is end of 2021
