A couple of days ago I updated the phone's software. There was then something about updating or installing aps. Obviously wasn't interested but there wasn't an option to tell it to go away. Since then I haven't been able to make any calls and I'm told calls to me go straight to voicemail. I don't have access to another phone so am unable to call 150.

No. It's now got to the stage where, when I call people I can hear the ring tone (which I couldn't before), they then answer and whilst I can hear them they can't hear me.

Have you tried rebooting your phone @AndyIves?
Is there another phone you could possibly test your SIM in?

Do you live near a local EE Store @AndyIves?
If you have no access to another line to call, I'd recommend visiting store.
The store will be able to connect you to our technical care team who have account access and can complete a full diagnostic.

Just tried now and it seems to be working again. The person I was speaking to says they saw something about the EE network being down. Obviously been sorted.
