Hi @Jenni44

Welcome to the community, we'll do our best to help.

Does your phone show that it has signal and connected to EE?
Chris

Hi Chris, no all I have is a WiFi signal (when connected to WiFi)

OK, thanks @Jenni44.

Could you pop your postcode into our network coverage checker and hit the 'check status' button please? It will let you know if there are any maintenance works in the area and let you report a problem if we're not aware.

Chris

Hi Chris,
Yes all seems ok with the signal

OK, thanks @Jenni44.

Could you try these steps please?

  1. Manually search for an available network. You'll find this in Settings > Mobile Data > Network Selection.
  2. Choose any non-EE network operator (this will fail, but it's part of the plan)
  3. Once it fails, re-search and select EE

Let me know if you're then able to make calls.
Chris

Do you have WiFi-calling enabled? And a WiFi-calling symbol active?

If not, then your phone won't be able to use any mobile-network based functions without either having network coverage or WiFi-calling enable.

Usage of apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger & suchlike is only carried through EE's mobile network as data. It's not a voice call as far as EE is concerned, it's data traffic. This will be using your WiFi-connection.
