Whatsapp working, even though data allowance has run out.

Hi, my data bundle has run out, but I can still recive messages on whatsapp even though I am not connected to Wifi. Why is that?

I have mobile and broadband plans with ee but did not get the data boost I was promised. I have just 2gb data a month! Was told i'd get something like 5gb bonus for having broadband.
