Hi, am in Ukraine with a medical organisation, I have my ee phone with me. Can I use data roaming as normal, is there any help that ee is offering it's customers here so that I can call my family and vice versa.

You should be able to use your phone there as normal there providing:
- If on contract, you have ensured roaming is enabled on your account by texting ROAMING to 150 before you left UK.
- If on PAYG, you have enough credit for making calls & texts from abroad.
As it is not in EU, you cannot use your usual UK allowances there but will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/ukraine .

Just crossed the Polish -Ukrainian border and received two messages from EE.
1. You will be charged for calls, data etc at such and such.
2. Your calls , data etc are free because you have EU roaming!
???? Confused.. you will be!

@Auchenhove2 : The latter currently (hopefully temporary) applies, overriding the former.
