Text offering me double data

Hi I’ve had a text from 1122 offering me double data for free as I’m a bt and ee customer. This would be very helpful - but is the text message legitimate? Or is it a scam? Thanks 😊

I think the person you spoke to was wrong. It's not a scam. I checked after receiving the same message from 1122, was told it was OK, replied to the text as instructed, and within a few minutes received another text from 150 this time saying "Hi from EE. Great news! We've just doubled your mobile data for free. All to say thanks for having BT and EE products in your home."

I'm sorry if you have been told differently, but that message is genuinely from us at EE. We use different text numbers for marketing offers.

Hi all

Apologies - having checked the app since - I agree with the others in this chat - the app offered me the same thing, and so I replied, and indeed got the double data package.

So the EE advisor on the helpdesk was wrong!

My bad for any confusion caused, @Christopher_G  can you pass along the message to the EE customer support helpdesk that they are briefing customers with the wrong information lol

It’s true. I’ve hone from 100 to 200gb. 
thought it was a con. Then had confirmation  and double data. 

Hi Chris,

I have just doubled my data, which is great as it now shows in my EE app. Can I just ask I am the main account holder but I have three other phone contracts under my account (for family) does this offer apply to all of us or would it be just me?

If you log into your My EE app and select each number, this will show if the data has been doubled for these numbers.

Hi Leanne, unfortunately it’s only mine that is showing up as doubled, does that mean the others can get this?

If you give us a call on 150 the team can check if the other numbers would be eligible for the double data, if they are registered on the same account @Coolswinger
