Data in Spain

Hi all. I am currently in Spain. I have unlimited data with roaming. I have really struggled to get any data unless i am in town. My wife has O2 and gets really strong coverage via Orange Spain. When I try to select Orange Spain and I get 1 bar and no data. I can get Moviestar very strong but 3G and doesn’t give any data. I have bought a CUDY 4g router. I also bought a 4g Orange data sim. Perfect coverage now. I have just tried putting the ee sim in the router and it doesn’t connect to a provider. What is the answer? Are Orange deliberately throttling ee roaming? I called ee in the UK and they said to forget Moviestar as they don’t like giving data roaming. I put the Orange data sim in the phone and I have full strength 4g. Any advice please?

Also unable to connect to the orange network while in Spain, no service message. We are on the ee network and used to work fine, customer service absolutely no idea. Only network available is Movistar which has very poor data? I have purchased a local orange sim which works fine, but paying twice.

Hi just back from Spain totaly apauling coverage from moviestar no calls or internet, i  went into the store before i went and was told to text roame to 150 and all would be fine. my friend had o2 not a problem with internet or calls so i will be buying a pay as you go o2 sim for next visit. I now know what EE stands for  Extremley  Exasperated.

Good morning @Kevozzr1400

I hope you had a lovely time in Spain.

I am sorry to hear about your calls and internet whilst you were abroad.

By any chance when you were in Spain did you try connecting to another local network?

Did you receive any error codes?

Was this reported to our technical care team whilst you were in Spain?

Speak soon,

Katie
