Data gifting allowance

I have a smart iPhone plan which I pay £87 a month for. This gives me unlimited everything and then 100gb of data to gift every month. For some reason, I have only gifted 55gb to my children and I only have just over 400mb left!!! I used my phone as a hotspot for my tv at a house I’m renovating and it apprears to have used a tonne of my gifting data??? I’ve now got 14 days until my allowance resets and my children have got like 4gb left. Please can someone tell me what’s gone on here as I thought that using your phones hotspot was part of the unlimited data not the gifting data. Also as far as I am aware, I’m on a 5g plan and I’ve read it should be 120gb to gift but I’m still on 100gb. I’ve been with EE for 15 years and am a little disappointed with this

You can't just gift any-old 100GB each month. It's got to be from the 1st 100GB of all your usage in the month. Therefore as you've already gifted 55GB this month & used most of the rest hotspotting, you have not a lot left to gift in the remainder of the month..

No, you haven't! You may have "unlimited data" (really 600GB FUP) but, as I told you, only the 1st 100GB of it may be gifted each month.

You need to gift your data on the first day of your monthly refresh otherwise your 100gb Gift allowance gets eaten in to.

Example say you have Unlimited 600gb every month, and you use 70gb yourself from your allowance before any gifting then you can only gift 30gb and so on, once you used up 100gb or more yourself you then have zero Data to gift untill the next refresh date.

Ok not sure why you’ve got a bit of an attitude, I was just asking a question as I don’t understand it. Thanks for you input though!! I’ll speak to EE tomorrow.

Yea it's a bit weird how it works for Ulimited Data Plans, as said just try and remember to Gift your Full Allowance on your monthly refresh date.

If you've got more than 2 Sims or Plans on the same account then you can just Gift all your Giftable 100gb or 120gb (depends on your Plan) to one of the Other Sims (ie Park it there), then you can move Data around from that SIM and not have to worry about your own Data use on your UL Plan etc.

So if I gift 100gb on the first day and then I want to use my hotspot for internet, will I still be able to?
