Birthday Gift Unlimitted Data for a month

I received this text that said I should be getting  unlimited data for the next 30 days as a birthday gift however, I just received a text saying I have used all of my data for the month ?

Is this a genuine offer? I got an almost identical message this week asking me to text yes to 1216. Before doing anything, I checked online directly with ee but their agent said there was no such offer and I should report it as a scam.

It's definitely a legit offer. I got in contact with EE at the beginning of
this week and they activated the unlimited data for me.

Apparently it didn't automatically activate because I still had data left
when I accepted the offer, so they manually activated when my plan data had
run out.
