I am using an EE data sim card in a Hauwei router, for the summer.
Worked fine last year but will not now connect to my work VPN.
Also tried w-using a hotspot on my phone and will not connect.
If I use another wifi network it connects okay so must be something to do with EE,
Told by EE it should work but I am thinking I may have to change to 3 and give them ago.

Hi Steve. I have exactly the same issue when trying to use my VPNs to access customer networks remotely via my EE data either directly from my mobile phone or by using it in hotspot mode and using my Windows 10 laptop. They stopped working suddenly earlier this year and the only way around it for me is to use the data service on my work Vodafone mobile which works perfectly. But my EE phone is the one I normally carry around so it's rather irritating to have to remember the Vodafone mobile as well just in case!

Hi Dave,
Nice to know it's not just me!!
I tired a Smarty (3?) data sim and same problem. Maybe have to try a Vodaphone sim.
Shame EE will not acknowledge there is a problem or better still fix it so it worked as before.
With more people working remotely I would have thought this was an important issue.
If Vodaphone works they will loose a customer!

Hi @Leanne_T
I don't know if the VPN had any updates but I have been in touch with our IT provider
and they do not know why there is a problem.
Are you saying that EE have not changed anything so it must be something else?

I am not aware of a change @Steve_h2
If you get in touch with our technical support team on 150, they can run troubleshooting and help you further.
Leanne.

I am having the same issue now for the last week or so. Used EE prepayed data sim to connect to my work VPN for the last year, but now it suddenly stopped working. I am now instead using a Vodaphone sim and that works fine. Problem only seems to be with EE sim. Would be interested to know if some solution was found.

Just a suggestion - try another 4G router from another manufacturer…

Hi Steve,
Despite what EE say, there are lots of issues with VPNs. A brief search through this community forum to show as much.
I think it is something to do with IPv6 vs IPv4. I recently came across an old post that suggested to change the APN settings as follows: https://apn.how/gb/ee/huawei-p30-pro
I haven't been able to check that yet myself, but am hoping it will be the asnwer.
