Re: Static IP

Is IPv6 now available for EE's mobile broadband 4G service, and would it overcome the CGNAT issue (which EE use with IPv4) which is currently preventing me from accessing IPCams remotely?

In other words, would an IPv6 connection in combination with Dynamic DNS allow me to view the cameras via WAN?

@PM4 : IPv6 has been available on the EE mobile network for some time, but it doesn't fall-back to IPv4 nicely. You might need to change the Profile/APN of your EE device to APN Protocol = IPv6 only from IPv6/v4. Or play around with that setting.

You had posted this query originally on the forum for fixed BB & Home Phone which doesn't have IPv6 anyway.

Thanks for moving the post.

Assuming I do manage to change the settings on what is a TP Link 4G router so that IPv6 is used instead of v4, would I then be assigned a 'proper' dynamic IP address accessible from WAN via DDNS, instead of the present CGNAT configuration.

I believe CGNAT is still employed on IPv6. Perhaps a more knowledgeable mobile user will be able to confirm this for you 1 way or another?
