Pre 2020 Wifi Mini

Hi,

I have an old (pre 2020) 4GEE Wifi mini that I haven't used for a few years but would now like to start using again as a back up to a dodgy internet supply.

It is fully charge up and turns on fine.  Solid red light on 4G.  I don't know how to top up (can't find the SIM number) and also wondering if the unit will actually work, or do I need to buy a new one?

Grateful for any advice!

For its mobile no. either:

  1. Text NUMBER to 150 from it.
  2. Look at http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from a device connected to your mobile router by WiFi to find its mobile no. at the top.
  3. Look in its System settings for a MSISDN field.

Do I need to buy a new SIM?

Is the SIM on contract or PAYG? If it's on PAYG, when did you last use it for a chargeable action?

MyEE doesn't work for registering PAYG MBB devices or at least those with data SIMs. It stops at telling you to connect your device & login to it, but when you've done as instructed it doesn't have anywhere for you to say you've done it.

You may continue using your device but you just can't register it to MyEE.

  1. Use Fast Top Up online with a UK bank card. You don't need to login or register anything. All you need is your mobile no.
  2. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from the device will tell you your usage.
  3. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from the device to buy add-ons.

These should still work.

Your image is just the landing page for it. You've yet to login but it won't tell us anything about its state.

Hi,

Thanks for your help.  It is a PAYG SIM and would have last been used 2019.

I have tried the fast pay link above, but when I type in the number it just comes up as an error.

Any further ideas?

As you haven't used it for about 3 years that PAYG SIM would've been deactivated after about 9 months of non-use. So, yes, you'll need a new SIM to operate that mobile router.
