Huawei CPE Pro from the 5GEE Home Router

Hello There

Just received my Huawei CPE Pro from the 5GEE Home Router bundle

It is the Huawei H112 - B372 model

My issue is with this router now I cannot connect my switch  or even do some facetime and all the app for video call its says all the time connecting .. but nothing.

Just before I had the home broadband from Three, very slow speed, but at least I did not get any issue for all Video call or even connecting my switch.

Any idea of what could be the problem in the settings ?

Tried to take off the firewall, same issue

Tried to unblock the parental control from EE, same issue

Following that post : https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/4G-and-mobile-data/Torrent-issue-with-Huawei-5g-CPE-Pro/m-p/838918/hig...

I bet I could be the APN issue, but can't find where to change/ tweak it.

Thank you very much fr your help

You need to tread carefully if you're attempting to change settings in hidden menus especially on the radio network side, you may end up inadvertently switching it to 5G SA Mode then you won't be able to pick up any Network.

Can’t find the drop down to change to ipv4 is this missing for anyone else?

Is this router network firmwhere locked, where did it come from ?

@EssexBoyEE That's what the factory rest is for, isn't it.

@nbphil as a last resort and get everything back on yes, but doesn't always work, I've got a Nighthawk M1 LTE Gigabit and another Huawei 5G CPE Router sitting on the Floor that are currently Door Stop Bricks through other Peeps messing with them ;(

Huge thanks to both @Ray88 and @tmrbnsn for the advice. I bought a 5G hub from EE as my flats Sky Internet is absolutely awful (15 Down 1 Up, and disconnected randomly every hour or so). And I really needed a quick workable solution for both my work and gaming hobbies.

I was ready to give up when it wasn't working, giving my Strict NAT type... But following your advice I've now got it working, still not Open, but Moderate NAT (Type 2), which is good enough for everything I do 🙂 super super pleased, so just wanted a shout out to you both, providing better help than both EE and Huawei could

Hi. Does anyone know if the EE Huawei boxes are 'network locked'? Or can they take any SIM?

Hi there @Wibbsy

Thanks for coming to the community.

Most devices sold by EE are locked, you can find full information in our Unlock an EE device to use with another network, Help page 🙂

@Wibbsy : Buy it from Dec 2021 & it will be unlocked by Ofcom decree.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

As @Leanne_T states they are Network Locked but they are also Firmware Locked to EE meaning some  of the Routers Settings are Restricted, the biggest EE Firmware restriction for most is no ability to set or change the IPV4 and IPV6 settings which has proved to be problematic for some Users.

As @XRaySpeX correctly points out after December all Devices released by any Network will need to be Network Unlocked for any Network SIM under a recent Ofcom Rulling, but it's still unclear on how this effects the Networks own Prefered Firmware  Installed on the Devices.
