Can't connect to work vpn

I use my unlimited phone data to work off of my work laptop and I can not connect to my work VPN even though the internet connect is great. I have been asked by IT to contact my ISP to see if they are blocking it. Can you confirm if this could be the issue? Cheers.

Could you please let us know which VPN you're trying to use, and what exactly happens when you're trying to connect to this?

Also has this worked in the past, or have you always faced these issues?
