5GEE router losing connection overnight

Profile closed
Not applicable

I have  an EE 5G data SIM in a 5GEE router.

Overnight EVERY night the router is disconnected.

It does not reconnect, nor switch to a 4G signal.

Settings are

  • Network search mode: Auto
  • Network mode: Auto (5G/4G)

I am having to restart every morning in order to force reconnection.

I have seen some older posts, but none with a solution.

Nothing on the EE service check page re. overnight works or anything like that.

Any suggestions please?

I will report the fault as soon as the fault reporting page of the website is fixed.

Hi @Profile closed,

Are you trying to report it at Service status in your area (ee.co.uk)?

It seems to working OK at my end.

Hi James

Yes, that's the age I'm using. I just end up going round and round in circles.

I've tried multiple times and different devices and browsers.

~Enter my postcode~

It tells me i should have good 5G coverage indoor and outdoors.

~Click on report a problem~

~Click on only need to check mobile~ and I'm back to entering my postcode

~Click on login and check your area~ I do that and it says "We can’t check our broadband network right now" as if checking landline broadband.

Hi @Profile closed,

From Service Status Checker | Check Network Problems in Your Area | EE, select Log in and check your area > Still having problems? > Report a problem.

Hope this helps. 🙂

Do you also have home broadband with us, @Profile closed?

Have you linked your mobile WiFi number to your EE online account/app?

We used to, but switched to your mobile broadband at the end of the last contract. I bought the 5G contract and router through National Broadband. They say this is due to EE band sleeping and washed their hands of it.

When I try to add the sim card to MyEE that failed too.

Hi @Profile closed,

If you're not a direct EE customer, you won't be able to report the issue with us online.

Any issues should be reported via your service provider.

James

Even if that BB Service Status were working it'll be no use to you. It's for checking the status of fixed Home BB. You need to check Mobile Service Status.
