Do I have to use the ee supplied router for 4g broadband. Or can I buy a different brand router (eg tp link) and use that?

Hi @Xsnoon
You can use whichever one you want.
Thanks

That's great. When I contacted EE initially they told me I had to buy one of their routers for 4G - which is a bit of mis-selling by the looks of it. I've also found the EE router to be unreliable so I'm glad I can try another make. Thanks for replying.

I've been using the EE 4G router for a few years and find it totally reliable. It's been on 24/7 and I've only had to reset it a few times. I live in a rural area and get a great connection. Who needs a wired in connection.

The early EE 4G routers were unreliable, kept turning themselves to sleep and the only way to reawake them was to pull the power cable out of them. I soon got fed up with that and so bought myself a Huawei B535-235 and an external antenna. But that was a few years ago and I'm now looking for better routers/antenna, so I'd be interested to know which ones you have looked at.
