Hi
I have just had EE super fast fibre installed using a Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro Device.
I have a PlayStation 4 and largely use it to play Destiny 2, a first person shooter. I now can’t join fireteams or accept/receive invites to join.
Looking at the settings it seems my issue is that the NAT is type 2 which is effectively blocking these “unsolicited” requests.
For the game to work properly I need an open NAT but my PlayStation is reporting a NAT 2 moderated connection.
I can’t see any settings in the control panel for the router to change this, any advice as I just want my game to work again 😊
edited to add, if I swapped the EE router to another brand would this fix it?
thanks
Ken
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

After playing around for a while I have solved this issue.
The router control panel was showing the uPnP was enabled and that ports were being forwarded, however a scan with Shields Up showed no open ports and uPnP not enabled which was pretty confusing.
So I deleted all of the settings and then connected my laptop with an Ethernet cable and then put the settings back in. This time it worked and my game seems to be working as it should,
So the solution seems to be to use a wired connection rather than Wi-Fi to make these sort of changes.

I had that with my Xbox series x, it kept showing as moderate Nat, (using the smart hub pro wired) which is the 2 equivalent I think. What worked for me was using the nat test, after three tests it changed to open. I can’t remember if there’s an equivalent on the PS4 as it’s been a while since I had one. Hopefully someone on here will point you in the right direction.

Hi
Did you manage to get you PS4 to NAT Type 1?
I have tried but cannot seem to be successful, to get NAT Type 1.
