PS5 download speed throttled

Help please 🙂

My speed tests consistently show the speeds I pay for (150 Mbps) but actual downloads on my PlayStation are severely throttled (c.15 Mbps) over my wired connection for large files. I've attempted numerous solutions found online, including changing the MTU settings, setting primary and secondary DNS to Google's or Cloudflare's servers, and proper power cycling of the router. I've also verified this through a specific workaround: by starting a download via a mobile hotspot and then switching back to the LAN, the download speeds remain high, proving that EE is throttling the connection only on direct large file downloads. I previously contacted the EE broadband help team, but found them very unhelpful, being told they aren't trained on router settings and that any engineer referral would incur a charge, which I find completely unacceptable.
Does a anyone know why this throttling is occurring and found a permanent resolution to restore full download speeds for large files?

Thanks!

You sure? File downloads are usually measured in Bytes (B) not bits (b). So 15MBps would be at least 120mbs allowing for TCP/IP overheads.

I wouldn't mess about with the MTU. It should be kept at 1492.
