You may find yourself up against a limitation of EE's mobile network. The EE mobile network uses Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) resulting in a double NAT, which means that you don't get your own public IP address but share it with other users. So you can't be uniquely id'ed on the Net & therefore your LAN cannot be addressed from outside for unsolicited accesses. This is unlike fixed BB.
If this occurs there is nowt you can do to avoid it.

Mums just got this, it’s absolutely tragic, no way to change the NAT type meaning I can’t play anything or even join party’s on Xbox, absolutely do not recommend if your a gamer, it can’t hold up at all, just switched from bt and only having 5mbs per second on a good day because of the place we live and it could hold up and the Nat type was open so I could online game, mums probably in a contract with these lot now, basterds! Fuming completely wish she could change back!
get this sorted !

This may help, but its not a complete Fix. Its really annoying because I just got an Xbox via EE and its pretty much unusable unless I can find a Port to use.
This is ALL on the Xbox, do not change anything on your Router.
This bit is only done once, later when I say may have to be done over and over.
Open Settings - General/Network Settings
Go to ADVANCE SETTINGS then DNS Settings (open). Then Select MANUAL.... Set the Primary ipv4 DNS to 1.1.1.1 and Secondary IPv4 to 1.0.0.1 (other sites have different but this was from a Microsoft engineer) [Save]
Not go to Alternative MAC address and click clear. Then check NAT Type. If Moderate, your good to go. If not go to this next option.
IF Not (this is the repeated bit and is darn annoying)
Go to Advance settings again. Now Alternative Port Selection, then MAUAL, and select a Port from the Drop down and Continue. Then [B] wait for it to give NAT Type. If still strict, go back to advance and do this again for a different port, you may have to do this 10-15 times until you get NAT Type : Moderate.
Once Moderate, your good for Gaming. Not the best I know, but its a work around. Next time to turn your Xbox check the NAT Type if Moderate still happy gaming, if not the back to Alternative Port until you find one.
Good luck, happy gaming, for me its bye bye Xbox, I'm in my 14 days, but I can't keep doing this when I want to play and the Internet is not in the first 14 days, so Xbox goes.

I wonder if anything has changed.as I was on a strict nat..then after changing dns in the xboxes to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4...turned moderate..OK.. that's better than strict.
So last week ee did some work on the bt exchange cell...at the same time..I moved from an essential unlimited plan..to a 5gee home router plan....even thoe I mostly just get 4g here....and now the nat on all 3 xboxes...are saying open nat...
Has ee gone ahead and assigned public ip access to people on the home broadband plans?or has the work the engineers did at the exchange do this?
Or is it just a stroke of extreme luck...ive ran check nat several times also and always comes back open...router has been restarted a few times in last couple weeks so it's re assigned ip..
Ip I have now

Or you can also connect a pc/laptop running a vpn and it works for NAT type 2

Download and install the VPN software on your Windows PC.
Connect your PS4 to your PC with the ethernet cable.
Open the Control Panel in Windows and navigate to the Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Change Adaptor Settings in the left sidebar.
Right-click on your VPN connection (the one installed on your PC), click Properties > Sharing.
Tick the box that says: Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection.
Locate the Home networking connection drop-down menu and select your ethernet connection.
Connect to the VPN server you require by using the VPN client on your PC.
Boot up your PS4.
On the main menu screen click on Settings > Network Settings.
Under Network Settings select Set up Internet Connection.
Select Use a LAN Cable when you are prompted.
Select Easy for the connection method and confirm Do Not Use a Proxy Server when asked.
Accept these settings and click Test Connection to ensure it works correctly.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I am considering trying to use a EE 5G Router as my landline Broadband is so slow.
So as per the previous posts using a VPN can resolve the NAT3 issues.
So would using the 5G router connected to a Asus Router and activating Nord VPN through that router and using that to connect to the internet achieve the same goal as connecting your PS5 through your PC to use a VPN
