Phone number not linking to EE account

Hi. I decided to join EE and get a pay as you go SIM card and after putting it into my phone, I can't link it to my EE account. It just keeps saying to try again later. Tried again later and still nothing. Might I be doing something wrong? Thanks:)

Low level issue

Selecting to view bill from main menu just displays a grey display. Tried closing app and retrying, fully updated app, iOS 16.6, EE app 5.21.00
