For a market leading company, the EE website is an absolute joke and has been for as long as I can remember.
I've been trying to research various EE product to buy, but keep getting
"Oopps, that didn't work, please try later"
Error xxxx bad request
Error request header is too long
Error 400
Code 500 Quota Violation
Come on EE, it's always been the slowest website ever, but for the last couple of days it's almost impossible to do anything.
You NEED to start paying for decent web hosting (you should be able to do that yourselves), AND you need to start paying decent money (you make enough of it) to decent software engineers/website designers. Yes, there are lots out there, all ready to earn a fair income and could do a whole lot better than present.
What impression does it give to prospective new customers?
What does a long standing, multi line customer like me do - I'm looking to spend more money with you, but your website is so broken, I can't.
Maybe I just migrate the lot to another provider?
Come on, sort it out.

No the error goes away. But then I'll get hit by either the same error or another minutes, hours or days later. Just been hit by this one now (and it's not the first today):
reason: Request Header Fields Too Large

Am I right in thinking that it's working OK when you're not logged in, @jakclark? You're able to browse products etc?

I'll give it a try but never really tried to browse products when not logged in. And when it has happened, it has usually prevented access to the website completely.
I can't understate how much the website is broken everywhere, it seems. I'm a web developer by trade but also I imagine the average Joe can see this too.
Just logged in and when I click on "profile" on the right-hand side I just get redirected to the homepage.
Very frustrating!

Hi @nickburt you are not alone.
I have this problem since nearly 6 months.
I have just got off the phone to report this to EE customer services and they don't have a clue or pretending to have no clue of this issue.
The only thing for me in particular is EE tech support don't inspire confidence one bit when it comes to Authorisation/Authentication or now API Gateway quota issue thb.
Hope someone get's this issue sorted.

Is there anything being done about this issue with the website?
I'm able to log in to the website but then everything stops working, I'm due for an upgrade but apparently EE don't want me to do that so may have to go elsewhere to a company with a working website.
Keep in mind, the website has NEVER worked for me. I have the app but when you select upgrade it redirects you to the website anyway which doesn't work.
I've tried:
Clearing the browser (cache, cookies etc. I clear everything)
I have tried using Microsoft Edge, Opera GX and Google Chrome (same issue on everything)
I have tried on 2 different computers and 3 different phones, I've tried going to the website through the app and directly with the same issue on all phones and all access methods.
As soon as I select upgrade or go to the shop all that loads is the top and bottom banner, everything that actually matters doesn't show up. Refreshing the page does nothing, usually it then tells me to log in again.
EE website
The above is what I see on both desktop and mobile, stops loading the exact same way every time. Note that it says "log in" in the top right but this is what I'm presented with AFTER logging in.
Note: Ad blocker has nothing to do with this, I have tried with it enabled, disabled and completely removed and there is no difference. I don't have an adblocker on Edge or Opera GX and have the exact same issue as above.
I see this has been raised to EE many many times by many many people who all get the same advice that never works. Maybe it's time to stop thinking "It's not us that are the problem, it's everyone else who's the problem" and consider that your website just isn't fit for purpose and needs to be fixed ASAP.

This is just deflection. Been on to technical support numerous times now and they don't do anything.
Totally pathetic response from EE.
