I've got this exact same issue. Can't login to the app or the website. This is for personal. So I can't share data, can't look at my bills, can't enable roaming etc etc. Something seems very wrong with the backend of the EE system.

I can't login to the app or website so can't share data, see bills, update roaming settings etc etc. This is for personal. Everytime I try to login on the app I just get a 'Sorry, there seems to be a problem...' error message. When I login on the website, I CAN actually login, but trying to go to my account to enable roaming or share data or do anything, just results in a similar error message. The URL appends the following message in the search bar: error?httpstatus=996

Just on the specifics of roaming settings, there is only limited ability to amend these via the website regardless of login issues.
The free roaming ability can be enabled by texting ROAMING to 150 from the UK, and once enabled remains active until & unless you explicitly request it removed. Billing add-ons, often confused, are different.

Hmmm. Thanks. I think the roaming might already be on (but for no way to check) but the spending cap is probably at 0 and I’d need that lifting to be able to use my phone abroad. My account has, apparently, had some settings changed after speaking to support today but I was told to wait 24 hours which, to me, sounded like a fob off.

Great, thanks! I’ll give this a go. Hopefully this will be usable workaround until the app is fixed?
Do you know if you can send data using this SMS method too? My family are currently on 0 data and I can’t help them out.

Thanks for coming to the community.
You would need to call us to gift data if you're unable to log into the EE app and account online. The team can get the data gifted to the other numbers, they can also look into the changes that were made and see what is needed if you're unable to log in after the 24 hours have passed.

I hope the issue gets fixed because it took me over 45 mins listening to waiting music to get through last night and I had a hard time explaining that it isn't that app, but some kind of backend issue. I don't relish going through that again to try and gift data!
