I've just spoken to an extremely unhelpful person on the EE helpline.
I naively thought that I would be able to access my Dad's account utilising the 12 digit V access code which I've ascertained through my Power of Attorney account for EE. Apparently though EE don't use this code even though the system lets me generate a V code for EE.
Is there anyway other than having to send a physical copy of my Dad's Power of Attorney form to Doxford Park, which would enable me to speak to someone about my Dad's account?
Thanks.

We can accept access codes for Lasting Power of Attorneys, obtained from the .GOV.UK site. This service can be used on all Power of Attorneys registered on or after 1st September 2019.
If you call Customer Service with your access code, the guide can pass your call over to our Life Events team who will take the next steps.
I'll send you private message. Please check your inbox and get back to me when you can.
Thanks

Just in case anyone else sees this message.
It is possible to register your PoA form with EE using your 12 digit access code which you obtain through your government PoA account.
Call Customer Services and when you get through to the advisor, ask for the Life Events Team who will register the PoA on your account.
The response I got from this site was very useful, it's just disappointing that the agent I spoke to originally knew nothing about this service. Perhaps there's a training issue?

A very useful, informative post Colin. It assisted me greatly in acting on behalf of my elderly mum.
As stated, a quick call with the Life Events Team ( in my case, a helpful rep named Osama - based in Belfast - easily understandable) where your activation code can be provided. Just a few ID verification details, and you are all set up. This is a clearly knowledgable department, able to deal with a variety of customer queries themselves.
The only hitch is on the initial call to EE, selecting which option number to press. I just went for Bill Queries, and then asked for the Life Events Team. I truly believe that the fact the EE customer relations team are based in Belfast, with their instinctive desire to help and friendly manner, and that accent, makes all the difference.
