Landline base unit answer phone vs. 1571 conflict

Hi,  we are on 900mb full fibre and have a BT landline unit (model. X56-f75tam) plugged into the EE router and seem to have a conflict with the base unit answerphone and 1571.

I'd checked the number of rings on 1571 which is set to 10 and have set the base unit to 8, still and have an issue. What happens is:

Once the answerphone kicks in, the call is cut off but the base unit is saying it's recording and you eventually get a long beeping sound. Says there's a message but obviously there isn't as the call was cut off.

1571 works ok when turning the base unit answerphone off. 

Anyone able to shed some light on this please.

@MrMeadster Lower the answer phone system down lower to around 5 and check again, dial let the answerphone pick up leave a message and see how it operates, just wondering if the 10 to 8 is just on the borderline off the switch over, should be fine for the system to know that the ATA interface has picked up the call and suppress the DV side from re-acting and getting confused, if it does not work then it's a call to EE CS and report, NO way that the DV side should NOT allow the ATA interface to carry on, route the call correctly on the EE  Hub. Let us know how you get on with the test....

If it all works out, then you can step the answer phone up one at a time to see where it falls over number wise....

In order for your base unit answerphone to work, 1571 would need to be disabled.

This is not supported unfortunately as it is integrated within the Digital Home Phone service and cannot be switched off.

You would be better to just keep the base unit answerphone disabled and use the 1571 service on it's own.

That's disappointing to hear but had a sneaky feeling that was the case 🙄😏

Not that I'm in the business for changing stuff for the sake of it but, I assume that if you have an EE phone that connects wirelessly to the router then this is no longer an issue?

For Digital Home Phones using DECT such as EE's Home Phone Plus, they will just use 1571 as well in the same manner as any other model of phone would plugged into the back of the router.

That's the one @JimM11 ! Worked and didn't get cut off. Played around and the longest I can set the phone to ring is 6 rings before the system confuses itself.  It's not the end of the world of course but it is annoying. Maybe a different hand set would work better and could rings longer unless it's the EE system

@MrMeadster I thank you for carrying out the test, it is/was very important to establish the facts, and now will re-direct to the EE CS help side your information, this issue maybe Router related but that is one off the unknown's and something that EE need to look at, DO NOT wish to have you going out buying new phones when nothing would be resolved then you pulling the hair out and all that entails.

@Matt_124 See the response. @JordanTA also copy so you are aware as the product specialist with the finger on the pulse of the DV side.
