Hi, can someone help please I have replaced my EE smart hub with a Deco X73 as a router. The EE hub would not connect correctly to my current Deco mesh,(no issues on BT broadband) The internet is working fine along with a stable mesh wifi. My problem is I cannot get the phone to work and wonder if anyone has had success using a X73. I am looking for the following information or if it won't work then could someone confirm this is the case. Thanks in advance.

You can't have Digital Home Phone w/out using the EE SH+ as your primary router. Other routers are not suitable for it.

I have also spent a lot of time seeking out these settings and phoning EE is of little use as they won't support third party routers.  I was trying to set up a TP-Link Archer VX1800v.  I sent a message to TP-Link but all they come back with is to contact your supplier.  I have written a review on Amazon warning of this issue.  I guess EE want to keep people using their routers as they work with their EE App, which incidentally has terrible reviews, and because they have access to the router's settings and can check the internet speed and anything else.  I haven't looked into it much but it seems that if you are using a DECT phone you can also store phone numbers on the EE hub or maybe somewhere on EE's servers.

Anyway,  thanks for clearing up the matter once and for all.  If I had know I wouldn't have switched to EE in the first place but I'm too exhausted to bother about changing supplier again.  I also have to sort out access to my account which is proving a major headache as I have an old EE account that is causing the problem.  Support have not been very helpful.
