iPhone 14 Upgrade

I am am on the annual upgrade plan for my iPhone 13 and my contract start date was the 24th September (release date of the iPhone 13).

I wish to upgrade the the iPhone 14 (whole point of being on the annual upgrade plan) and when I logged on earlier it said I have to pay £100.

Now I get the system is right but will EE really make me pay £100 to upgrade?

I was informed today that the fee would still stand and that I should check my contract small print by an EE online representative, I again ordered last year on pre order day with an anytime upgrade contract and as EE delivered the device late (4th Oct) so I’m now faced with a £300 for pre ordering, something that has always been waved in the past I’ve done 9 years of iPhone pre orders and never had to pay a fee?

The best thing will be to ring them when pre orders open. Last year online it was showing a £300 fee and it was when I texted UP to 150 too (which doesn’t seem to be working for me at the moment)

But when I rang up to upgrade they said there was no fee to pay. I’ll be doing the same tomorrow. If they try and charge a fee I’ll be registering a complaint because my upgrade date is later because of their failure to dispatch the phone in time last year

@wizzywig27 I haven't been on these boards for nearly a year and i see this guy is still being as helpful as ever!!!! be careful though, he will have you blocked like he did to me last year when he didn't like what i was saying...

@Jonm140 if last year taught me anything, its that the advisors on live chant generally can't be relied on to provide correct and accurate information.  There was so much confusion and ill feeling as a result of it, these forums got pretty hectic because nearly every second person was getting a slightly different answer each time they tried to get information

I’ve upgraded and had my fee waived every year.  One year I had to argue a lot!  Now each year if it’s even 1 day late I get them to put a note on the account that I complained they delivered late and it should not affect my upgrade date the following year.

Ee staff don’t generally care about next year as much right now so getting that note added is easier than arguing the following year.

Another thing to keep in mind is your upgraded processes the day before or day of delivery, so since these phones are delivering 23rd onwards you shouldn’t be paying a fee.

Worst case you can say according to your terms if delivered before 23rd I’ll pay, otherwise I won’t!

They must have some directive or policy for everyone so let’s see what it is this year!

When I checked out it made my pay £100 but when I called to confirm the order I asked and she told me I will get the £100 waived and the pending transaction on my account will be cleared in 3-5 days so seems they are waiving the fees, if what she said is correct.

Just spoke to EE over the phone. I'm in the exact same situation as yourself and was advised that the fee would not be waived and that I must wait until the 23rd of September should I wish to upgrade without paying the £100 fee that would be due if I were to upgrade before that date.

Disappointed to say the least but it is what it is.

Called today to pre order and found them very helpful, no upfront cost and no early upgrade fee. I should have paid £100.

Same here its upgrade anytime but the fee of £100 is if you upgrade before 12 months. After 12 months there’s no fee

i was about to pay the £100 but my perks code didnt work online so when i phoned to upgrade the lady only charged me delivery cost not the £100!! Lucky me
