When can I downgrade handset plan to only?

My 24 month handset contract is up next month. I am happy to keep this handset, when can I downgrade to a sim only plan? I am getting conflicting information on whether this is 30 or 45 days prior to the contract end date

@SEMD  You can upgrade 45 days before the minimum term.  But if you’re changing into a Sim only you will not change to  new tariff until you have seen out the full term of your existing tariff.
